Some people think law changes human behaviour. Do you agree or disagree?

In modern society, people are forced to obey laws and penalties and fines are given to those who are against. Some people believe that human behaviour is changed by this enforcement. This essay will discuss why laws have a great influence on people's behaviour.

To begin with, laws are expected to be the powerful tool to guide people's acts. This is because individuals are afraid of penalties and fines. In some countries, a death sentence is given to those who sell drugs. This prevents peoples selling drugs, in turn, people change their behaviour to follow the laws.

Some people may insist that laws, however, have no influence on human behaviour. They believe that there are many criminal acts because people do not obey laws. But in a broad term, the influence of laws on human behaviour is greater than they think. A study in 2017 showed that the world's average rate of crimes was less than ten percent. This figure shows that more than 90 percent of people's behaviour is affected by this enforcement.

In conclusion, this essay discussed why people obey laws and statistically how many citizens do not commit crimes. In my opinion, people's behaviour is changed by laws.

To begin with, there are numerous reasons why laws are expected to be the powerful tools to guide people's behaviour, but the most significant one stems from the fact that individuals are afraid of penalties and fines. For example, In some countries, the death penalty is given to those who sell drugs to prevent people from selling and buying drugs. Therefore, people are more likely to change their behaviour to obey laws.
